1980

Indian Tube Co. Ltd. merged with Tata Steel and Cyanide and Pigments ( present Tata Pigments) acquired the status of a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel.

Mr. A. Jankinath was appointed as the Chairman of Cyanide and Pigments (present TPL).

Yellow Oxide

The year saw the manufacture of Yellow Iron Oxide pigment.

IS 44

  • Cyanide and Pigments attained the License of BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards)
  • Copper as process was discontinued and environment friendly 'Precipitation - cum – Hydrolysis / Calcinations” was introduced for the manufacture of Red Oxide

  • Cyanides & Pigments Ltd was renamed Tata Pigments Ltd.
  • Mr. A.Jankinath was accorded the status of Chairman-cum-Managing Director.

1987

A new product, “Flooring colours” was launched, under the brand name ‘Tata Red’.

1993

 Mr. B.P.S. Panwar took over as the reins as Managing Director of TPL.

Launched Dry Cement Paint under the brand name ‘CEMPLUS’.
